Camping isn’t just a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. Whether you’ve just entered into the big wide world of camping or you’re a camping pro, you need to make sure you have the following 21 UK campsites on your bucket list. They’re all unique in their own way – don’t miss them!

 

#1 Kippford Holiday Park, Scotland

Voted best in Scotland and set in the beautiful Dumfries and Galloway area. Here, you not only get friendly staff, but gorgeous nature walks and views too. You’ll even find an ancient bluebell woodland on site.

 

#2 Bath Chew Valley, Somerset

An adults only camper park, voted the best in Somerset, Avon and Wiltshire. The winner of many other awards too! The luxury washrooms and ironing facilities make it a breeze to stay in.

 

#3 Denstone, Staffordshire

Only 2 miles from Alton Towers, this is a brilliant place to take your camper with the whole family. You can even hop on a bus at the bottom of the site to get there. Great facilities and an electric hook up make it a brilliant place to stay. Nice and quiet with just 15 pitches, too.

 

#4 Aberafon, Gyrn Goch, Gwynedd

Families and surfers love it here as it has it’s own private beach, and is surrounded by the peaks of Snowdonia. Wild swimming is possible and there are plenty of chances to go rockpooling.

 

#5 Brighton Road, Lewes, East

Located in the middle of some of the UK’s most beautiful scenery. The peaceful site is perfect for relaxing or following a winding trail.

 

#6 Faerie Thyme, Crwbin, Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire

This site has fire pits, dream catchers, space to meditate, and all of the other magical things you’d imagine at a place called Faerie Thyme. An adult only park that encourages guests to unleash their inner child. The hosts are extremely friendly and many guests describe their stay as blissful.

This place has coastal lagoons and nature trails. It’s popular with birdwatchers and is even great for swimming. 10 acres of ancient woodland is even available to be booked as a private camp.

 

#8 Deepdale Backpackers & Campers, Burnham Deepdale, Norfolk

Here you can find many activities, such as cooking classes and stargazing. The tipis make this place look super magical! There are plenty of beaches and coastal walks too.

The perfect place for coast to coast walks. The rolling hills and farm animals make it a pretty place to stay, as well as the gentle shoreline washing in and out.

This is a great site behind a cliff top, so it’s not too exposed. Cornwall’s best beaches are nearby, giving you the opportunity to surf or relax. You can find other activities nearby too, such as the open Air Auditorium.

The adventure playground here is perfect for kids an animal lovers, with things like guinea pigs and horses on site. The pebbled beaches and tea rooms are great too.

The ideal place for surfers to stay, as there’s a perfect view of the beach. This allows surf enthusiasts to head down to the beach as soon as they spot the perfect wave!

 

#14 Shell Island, Gwynedd

Europe’s largest camping site with cliff top pitches and gorgeous views. You can even camp amongst the sand dunes. For families and couples.

The views over the bright blue water are some of the best in Cornwall. A small site but beautifully run. Even has camping snugs available.

 

#16 Beechwood Grange Caravan Club Site, York

A fairly private place to stay screened by hedges and trees. It’s easy to jump on a bus and explore the surrounding area, with plenty of museums and retail parks. Also great for kids with space to play, and a nearby theme park. Look out for the wildlife!

 

#17 Wing Hall, Wing, Rutland

You may have heard of Rutland water; a watersports haven for enthusiasts. This campsite is nearby, and on the grounds of a stately home. Perfect for families, here you can enjoy bike rides and explore the stately towns.

 

#18 South Lytchett Manor Park in Dorset

A brilliant park for families with a park onsite, you’ll be close enough to explore nearby Poole, Swanage, or Weymouth. There’s free wi-fi, a games room onsite, and much more.

 

#19 The Plassey Leisure Park in Wrexham

This 5 star leisure and touring park has won many awards. It’s a unique one to say the least – it even has a pool!
